RAIL INNOVATION: Southeastern On How Aviation Is Influencing Fleet Maintenance

The strategies for improving fleet reliability and reducing maintenance costs at the same time are constantly evolving. Over the past year, Southeastern have developed the MSG3 maintenance programme for its rolling stock, which has its roots in the aviation industry.

This pioneering approach will be explained in detail on 22nd-23rd January in London at Rolling Stock Fleet Maintenance Cost-Reduction 2014, but ahead of this key date in the rail calendar, we spoke with Wayne Jenner, Director Of Engineering at Southeastern, to bring us up to speed on this new maintenance programme.
